West Sussex Mind is recruiting two paid positions as Co-Chair and Peer Evaluator to lead the review of its Pathfinder mental health service. If you have lived experience of mental health, please do get in touch.
We are seeking two experts by experience to co-chair the steering group, which will lead the review of the Pathfinder mental health service provided by West Sussex Mind. The co-chairs will work alongside a team of staff, trustees and volunteers from the charity and an external evaluator.
The West Sussex Mind Pathfinder service provides support to adults with mild to moderate mental health needs in the Adur, Chanctonbury, Littlehampton, Midhurst and Worthing areas. The service review, which will take place in autumn/winter 2022, will examine the delivery model for the service and make recommendations for any changes or improvements.
Role title: Expert by Experience Co-Chair and Peer Evaluator
The work involves:
-
Attending meetings. These will either be on Zoom or hybrid, so the post holders will need access to their own computer and internet connection
-
Agreeing meeting agendas and co-chairing the review steering group
-
Reading detailed documents and information. Sharing thoughts and ideas based on experiences, particularly around which services have provided the best support, what hasn’t worked so well and where there might be gaps
-
Carrying out telephone or face-to-face discussions with other service users and stakeholders to establish their thoughts about the service
Commitment: Approx. 30 hours between the end of September and end of December (chairing at least four 1-2 hour meetings). Initially for around four months, but there is the potential for this to be extended, or for there to be further projects in the future. Time will be given for meeting preparation as well as attendance at meetings and debrief sessions.
Support: Introductory meeting with staff involved in the review, who will explain the evaluation process in more detail. This will include what we are aiming to achieve from the review and an introduction to the key staff and the independent evaluator involved in this project. Supervision/debrief sessions will be provided to discuss and support involvement in the project.
Location: Zoom or hybrid (Zoom and in person) for most meetings. Some of the discussions with other services users or stakeholders could potentially be face-to-face.
Rate of pay: £13.20 per hour plus travel expenses
