Mental Health Support
31 Aug 2022

The Sussex Coproduction and Lived Experience Network (SCALE) is supporting the Sussex-wide Community Transformation Programme to transform mental health services across the county. Could you be part of the West Sussex Lived Experience Network to influence local service provision?

The NHS in Sussex is currently engaged in a programme of mental health service transformation and the voices of people with lived experience of mental health are vital to identify and plan changes.

The Sussex Coproduction and Lived Experience (SCALE) network links with key teams and groups who are responsible for commissioning and implementing these changes. The West Sussex part of this network will collaborate with other lived experience networks in West Sussex, and with a sister network in East Sussex (including Brighton and Hove), for better communication and coordination across the region.

The network is designed to support existing lived experience networks and groups and not to replace them. The focus will be on the Community Transformation Programme and collaborating with mental health organisations and lived experience networks to support it. We also aim to supply people with specific lived experience, who may usually be excluded from accessing support or from accessing lived experience opportunities, due to a variety of characteristics and/or social factors.

If you live in West Sussex and you have personal experience of poor mental health, or you're an unpaid carer (friend, relation) for someone with mental health problems, please join the West Sussex Lived Experience network to have your say. There are some paid opportunities too.
